Iris Simmons moved to Esher in 1950 when her husband Roger started his architectural practice in the High Street. They gave decades of service to the local community, particularly as the founders of the Rosemary Simmons Memorial Housing Association for which they both received the MBE. She was Mayor of Elmbridge, a Councillor for 14 years, and was heavily involved in over 25 voluntary organisations including the Princess Alice Hospice. All the proceeds from the sale of this book go to the Hospice.
